Contact your Congressperson

by on July 17, 2012

I’ll admit that I’m a day late with this but bear with me, it’s summer time and all I want to do is go to the pool 🙂

As AJ mentioned back in late June, this week is the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance’s annual conference in Washington, DC.

One of OCNA’s main foci is advocacy and to that end, last Friday was Advocacy Day.  This day was a chance to tell Congress your story whatever that story might be – survivor, family member, or friend.

You can still join in the advocacy by contacting your Congressperson.  OCNA has provided a simple online form to fill out which will send your Congressperson an e-mail.  You can find it here.

OCNA is advocating for the following:

  • Recognize September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
  • Support appropriations of $20 million for the Ovarian Cancer Research Program in Fiscal Year 2013
  • Co-Sponsor the Cancer Drug Coverage Parity Act (HR 2746) or become a sponsor of the Senate bill when introduced

So take just a minute of your time to send your Congressperson an e-mail advocating for ovarian cancer.

I did.
